China Lantern Museum is located in ZIGONG LANTERN Park. It was built in June 1990, completed in July 1993, and officially developed on February 1, 1994. It covers an area of 22,000 square meters, with a total construction area of 6,375 square meters. China Lantern Museum is now a national second-class museum. It is a specialized organization for "collection, protection, research and display" of Chinese lanterns. It is also the only heritage and protection unit for the national intangible cultural heritage Zigong Lantern Festival folk custom project and provincial intangible cultural heritage Zigong Lantern traditional production skills project.
At present, the museum of Chinese Lanterns is mainly displayed in the foreword hall, the history of Chinese lanterns, the customs of Chinese lanterns and Zigong Lantern Festival. The collection is mainly composed of Chinese historical relics lamps, Chinese colorful lanterns and modern special material lamps. The basic display of "History of Zigong Lantern Fair" integrates scientific and intellectual characteristics, with a large number of text descriptions and precious historical photos, showing the historical evolution of Zigong Lantern Fair, the formation of lantern fair customs and the development of modern Zigong Lantern Fair.
